Christmas In July

We kicked off our Christmas celebration with a sneak peek at some of the Christmas fabric which has started to arrive. Due to Covid restrictions, we had to be creative with how we were going to showcase this years collections. The weather held and we were able to assemble a small group of quilters to get a first hand look at the fabrics and kits. We now have a dedicated corner in the classroom with our kits and patterns to entice you to start thinking of the holidays - less than 150 days to go! There is more Christmas fabric arriving every week, but I think you will love what we have so far!

Christmas display in the store - wow! Lots of great patterns, kits and other ideas.

More fabric arriving soon!

You may have seen this quilt on Pinterest or other quilt related sites. It is a pattern from Modern Handcraft and it has been featured in many different colour variations. Karen and I have been waiting to start this one and now I'm ready!

I personally love the scrappy med/dark blues with a sparkling white snowflake - which one is your favourite?

We have kitted this one in beautiful deep blue and medium blue colours and I will be offering a quilt along starting August 15 (This will be my first sew along so bear with me - Wanda will be my backup coach!)

Choose your own fabrics or let us put together your favourite colours into an amazing kit and sew along with me!

Snowflake pattern $14.95

Snowflake kit $119.00

Chill is the latest group for winter from Zen Chic. The blues, creamy whites and gold are a lovely combination and her classic patterns have been updated to reflect the current collection. You will recognize the tree quilt from a couple of years ago - still a beautiful quilt in whatever colour combination you select.

We have Jelly rolls and charm squares currently available.

Tiny Tree Template and pattern

I love tree patterns and quilts just as much as I love houses on my quilts - something very warm and cozy about that look. We had seen the tiny tree template when we were in Houston last fall and then I promptly forgot about it until Cheryl reminded me about it. This two piece template set is simple to use, just cut strips of fabric the same size as the template and start cutting triangles and the background shapes. Scrappy or organized - you decide!

Template $19.95

Through the Pines pattern $14.95

Tabletastic is the new book from Doug Leko and it features 20 different table runners and table toppers. Many are made from pre cuts such as charm squares and jelly rolls - try one using the new Chill Collection or Best of Morris charm pack. I've already picked my favourite ones from the book and hopefully I can get started on one of them soon!

Grabbit Magnetic Pin Cushion

These are wonderful pin holders. The strong magnet inside the holder will keep your pins neat and in their rightful place. I have dropped loose pins on the floor and then "swept" the magnetic pin cushion over top to pick them all up instantly!
They come in many colours, including red, purple, blue, lavender and turquoise. Grab one today!
This week they are on sale for just $15 regular $18.95

Robert Kaufman has just released the Venice collection and it is stunning! Florals and multiple pattern inlays create a look we haven't seen before. The shades of blues, purples, teals and more are just incredible.

The two patterns will be available for free on the Robert Kaufman website. They should be posted by the end of the month. Their website features some wonderful free patterns to inspire you to use some of their collections.

Fireside Retreat is open again after taking the past few months off due to Covid 19 regulations.

During that time, Emma put together a beautiful video to take you on a tour through the house. Perfect for those of you who haven't been there and also for those of you who have, you can reminisce and hopefully count the days until you will be there again.
