THE QUILT POLICE!!!! August 27 2014

WHO ARE THEY?

No!!! Sergeant Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon are NOT at a quilt show, AND they are NOT talking about YOUR quilt.

They are talking about solving a REAL crime.

Well, okay.   They are working on a fictional television crime.

Did you wander a wee bit off course with your machine applique?

THESE GUYS ARE NOT COMING AFTER YOU!

This woman is not under arrest for a "QUILT CRIME"!!!

She did something much worse!!!!

You will NOT have to answer to "CHARGES" if you make a mistake.

THERE ARE NO QUILT POLICE.

THEY DO NOT EXIST.

Nobody is perfect.   True enough, we all want our points to match up.   You want your stitches in the right place, but let's face it.   Mistakes happen.   And if they do, so what?  Learn from them.  Correct them if you can.   But do not let it stop you!!!    Keep going!!!  You would be hard pressed to look at any quilt and NOT find a mistake.   BIG DEAL!!!

But if you are frightened of 'THE QUILT POLICE', it may be holding you back from finishing a project, or trying something new.

ARE YOU HESITATING FROM TRYING A NEW METHOD BECAUSE YOU HAVE DEEMED YOURSELF NOT GOOD ENOUGH?

GOOD ENOUGH FOR WHAT?

Oh my good grief!  You're kidding.  GET OVER IT!!!  If we all worried that our quilts were not good enough to go to the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky, then NONE OF US WOULD BE QUILTING!!!!

REALLY!

GET OUT THERE AND TRY SOMETHING NEW!

AND FORGET ABOUT THE QUILT POLICE!!!

Remember this!   Some of the best techniques AND most beautiful quilts resulted from a mistake!
