THAT'S NOT ALL, QUILTERS!!!

Next Tuesday, September 15th, we have a very special guest spending the day with us at the shop.

Kathy K. Wylie, MULTIPLE award-winning quilter, will be here teaching us how to use the amazing Apliquick tools.   Kathy's quilting curriculum vitae would make any seasoned quilter break out in a profuse sweat, and I won't go into detail here, but suffice to say, one of her gorgeous quilts, Instruments of Praise, has been permanently swept away to reside forever in the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky, also known as Quilters' Mecca!!!

Isn't that quilt just absolutely exquisite!!!!   Instruments of Praise has won the following awards:

Bernina Machine Workmanship Award, 2011 American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show, Paducah KY
Third Place, Traditional, World Quilt Competition XIV
Excellence in Appliqué, 2010 National Juried Show, Canadian Quilters’ Association
Best Wall Quilt, Road to California 2010
First Place, Innovative Appliqué: 2009 Quilts: A World of Beauty, International Quilters Association

Isn't that incredible!!!  Oh, and there is so much more that Kathy has accomplished in an amazingly short span.   It would make your head spin if I were to go through all of the details.    This gal was meant to quilt, and we are so lucky she is going to be sharing her talents with us!!

Now, as many of you know by now, we are totally booked for spaces on Tuesday.    Sorry, quilters, but there is no more room.

BUT here is some good news.

Kathy is also scheduled to be the guest speaker at the Orillia Quilters Guild which meets at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16th at the Royal Canadian Legion, 215 Mississaga Street East in Orillia.    Guests are always warmly welcomed and for a very, very small guest entry fee of $5 you will be able to attend and watch Kathy's presentation.   One thing is absolutely certain!!   You will not be disappointed!!!

Later gators!
