SEWING ROOM SAFETY! July 21 2017
It sounds kind of funny, doesn't it? Well, there are dangers that lurk in your sewing room. Here's something you may not have thought about.
What do you do with your broken sewing needles or pins that are bent beyond belief? Do you just throw them into your thread catcher?
DON'T DO IT!
At some point you may push down on your garbage (in order to fit more in) with that nasty sharp point exposed. Bad news for your hand.
We will spare showing you the blood that inevitably follows the pin prick.
No quilters were hurt in this demonstration mainly because I stole that picture off of the internet.
Do you have any old film canisters? How about an old prescription pill container?
See that! The old film canister even has the word "GARBAGE" written on it.
There are those dangerous pins and broken sewing machine needles that might otherwise cause you pain.
Simply throw the plastic container in the trash and nobody gets hurt.
One of these containers will (should) last you a VERY LONG TIME!
