PeaPods

These fun little pouches can carry your coins, small cosmetics, little quilting supplies, odds and ends etc….Maxine will share with you the secret for putting zipper pulls back on a zipper and you will leave making at least one if not two or three of these in class!

Electric Quilt 7 or 8 

This computer program allows to you to design, create, plan and print your quilt blocks, layout, fabrics and more. There is a lot to learn in this mega computer program, but the results will keep you designing and playing with your fabrics forever! (program installed on your laptop is necessary for this class)

Clematis Pouch

Make this great mini tote as it is perfect for carrying toiletries or your quilting supplies. It is great for just about any age as it can be used for school supplies to arts and crafts, or bingo and small game supplies.

In a Bind

Bindings are the finishing touch to add to the quilt. Learn how to add them to your quilt in the neatest ways possible. Two colour, faux piped and regular machine stitched bindings will be discussed.

Ruler Work

You’ve practiced free motion quilting, but would like to find out how to use the rulers and develop confidence using them. This class is for you!  Paula will talk and demonstrate different patterns that can be created using the VersaTool and Angela Walters rulers – Slim, Archie and Squiggy.  (you will need at least one of these rulers for the class)

Date:  Wed. Oct 30

Time: 9 – 12

  • Sewing machine with the ruler foot for the machine that you are bringing to class. Must be able to drop the feed dogs  
  • Extension table
  • Your sewing machine manual
  • A quilting ruler at least 1/4 inch thick. Suggestions include the Handiquilter Versatool, Handiquilter 3x12 inch straight ruler, Angela Walters “ Slim” , plus any other ruler that you have that is 1/4 inch thick
  • Quilting gloves
  • 3-4 quilt sandwiches at least 16 x16 inches, preferably plain or lightly patterned.
  • Regular sewing thread preferably in a contrasting colour.
  • A quilt marking tool. There will be a discussion of quilt marking tools in class so don’t buy anything special for class.
  • Zipper in a pillow

    For years we have done the overlap when making a pillow back.  Now we have mastered the zipper backing and it is even easier (and uses less fabric) than the “old fashioned” way!  Don’t be afraid of zippers any more!

    Cozy Cuddle Fabric

    These quilts are incredibly soft and cozy and perfect to make for the family!  Although “cuddle” or minky is a bit harder to work with, I’ll share my secrets for successful sewing.

    Retreat Bag

    These have become the latest bags to make!  The wire inside the bag allows the bag to open up and stay open allowing you to see everything inside. (It reminds me of the old Doctors Bags!) The pattern is a free download, and we stock the wire inserts!
