Monthly Classes

These classes are offered every month throughout the year and can be joined at any time. Flexibility is the key to these classes as you decide how many and how often you would like to come.


Paper Piecing

 Jennifer will show you how to enjoy paper piecing with practical tips and tricks. Bring a pattern of your own or choose from one of the many wonderful Judy Neimeyer patterns available.

Machine Applique with Rosemary

Choose your machine appliqué project, McKenna Ryan, One World, Java House… and Rosemary will show you how to make fusible appliqué your friend!

Welcome to the Neighbourhood

 A free pattern will be provided each month and you can use your own fabric to create this quilt featuring pieced houses, trees, blocks and more. Great quilt for beginners!  Monthly kits can be arranged.

Northern Wilderness

This exceptional quilt is designed by a quilter in Alaska, but the scenes depicted are all ones we can relate to here in Ontario.  Each month a block will be made and a machine appliqué will be added to the square.  Fabric selection will be discussed.

Merilyn has been teaching a variety of projects through the years and she is versatile in helping you with any project you need assistance with.  Her specialties include Buggy Barn technique, Kaffe Fasset quilts and more!

Hexagon Happiness

This monthly class work on their own English paper piecing projects.  All work is done by hand and Dana is here to show you how to get started in English paper piecing and the range of patterns to use to make your own project.

Hand Applique

Learn the basics and more from Clara while enjoying the friendship and camaraderie of other appliquers while your work on a project of your choosing.

 Continue working on a project you may have started with Sue B. or start one of her many favourites which we didn’t have time to offer this session like Embroidery, French Braid etc.

Saturday Sit & Sew

Rosemary is the host of these sessions and will be there to guide you through your choice of project.

Fancy Stitches – Mayhem Mystery Quilt

This  mystery quilt provides lots of laughs and great sewing adventures.  Dana will read a chapter of the mystery each month and Wanda will explain the sections of the quilt to make.  All sewing will be done at home.

Missouri  Madness

Once a month we will take a look at one of the Missouri Star patterns make a project using a precut fabric bundle.  The first month will be a mini charm square, then a 5” charm square pack, a jelly roll and the last month will use a 10” layer cake.

Home Sweet Home

This charming quilt features a house block every month.  Machine or hand appliqué can be used to create each block along with a bit of machine piecing.  Kits will be available to create this quilt in the original Maywood Studio fabrics!

Baltimore Variations

This stunning quilt will expand your knowledge of appliquéing by hand using the starch method.  Crisp edges, tiny stitches with attention to detail will make this quilt a treasured masterpiece.

Full Bloom

This is likely the last time this session will be offered, as most are getting closer to completing this incredible quilt.  However, if you would like to start another quilt, Elizabeth Hartman, Sew Fresh Quilts etc.  Rosemary will gladly help you out!

$10 Club

 There are a few rules to follow but this popular 1 hour class promises learning, sharing and fun while you make 12 blocks for just $10! All sewing is done at home.

 3rd Friday of the month.

Times: 9, 11 & 1 or Sat. 8:30

Mystery Quilt in a Day

Well almost! We cut it, you sew it, but you won’t know what you’re making until the day of the class. Your choice of size and fabrics.

Thimbles Club

Join us for an hour or so for a look at what’s new in the store, demos and perhaps a small hands-on project.  The club will be working on Edyta Sitars quilt, Quilters Patch, throughout the year with all sewing done at home.  Kits will be available for purchase in January.  No sewing machines are needed. 

Dates: Last Thursday of the month.

Time: 9 a.m. 1 p.m. or 7p.m.

Fee: $35/year

Children’s Classes

Learn to Sew – Make tote bags, PJ pants, pillowcases and more!  Weekly after school class provides instruction on sewing machine operation and basic functional sewing.
