Tequila Lime Quilt - FULL

This 9-month sew-along focuses on paper-piecing, with the ultimate goal of completing a magnificent quilt top.

While paper-piecing may seem easy, and it is, a more complex pattern like this one requires a few more skills. We’ll start by looking at colour and value options. We’ll refine the fabric requirements and look at better ways of cutting the fabric pieces. The quilt includes curved piecing, eight points stars, and loads of tips for working with the shapes in this quilt.

Prerequisite: MUST know how to paper piece as this is NOT a beginner project.

Homework requirement: approximately 4 – 5 hours per month. The goal with this class is to stay on track without getting overwhelmed, so at the reveal in June, you’ll have a completed quilt top. It’s easy to get distracted on your own.

Dates: January 6, February 10, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1

Time: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Teacher: Elaine

Pattern: Tequila Lime

All About Applique

This 9-month technique-based class focuses on all things applique. We’ll examine supplies and

techniques for fused (raw-edge) and turned-edge applique. How to choose an applique style for a specific project and the options for stitches (hand and machine) will be explored. I’ll encourage using different fabrics (wool, cotton, fleece, etc.) and thread types. We’ll touch briefly on machine embroidery applique.

All skill levels are welcome.

Homework requirement: approximately 4 hours per month. You will not be doing a specific project unless you want to, but it’s an opportunity to try a new technique and get feedback at our next meeting.

Dates: January 6, February 10, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1

Time: 10am – 11am

Teacher: Elaine
